Cheryl is a creative instigator driven by her passion for demonstrating the impact that can be generated when brands honor the perspectives and experiences of multicultural audiences. With more than two decades of progressive experience, she has led notable brand initiatives including Unilever’s Dove “Campaign for Real Beauty” and the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women,” each ranked among the best campaigns of the past 20 years by Ad Age and PR Week. Cheryl has also served as the senior African-American strategist for “The Talk,” Procter & Gamble’s unexpected and groundbreaking campaign about racial bias. 

Now, Cheryl is guiding brands toward a more inclusive and meaningful future as the Founder & CXO of Cheryl Overton Communications (COC), a “streative” advisory helping companies achieve business goals via the voices, influence, and persuasive power of multicultural audiences. In addition to moving the needle for clients and winning awards for COC, Cheryl is a regularly featured speaker on the topics of diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural storytelling.
